For this it would be sensible to stuff the DB-files into
some type of archive. Just to ease up the handling of the
backup. One could probably use either tar or uncompressed
zip and just add a custom extension like "sar" (=scid
archive) or whatever to allow for mime-type binding. Maybe
TCL does already allow for the handling of zip or tar?

In this context it would then be sensible to add support for
opening such "archives". Ie. automatically unpack them to a
temp dir and open it from there.

Plus, we had some discussion about additional metadata for a
scid database. We discussed something like Dublin Core based
descriptive information. It would be sensible that those are
easily accessible form the archive for lookup. I want start
to work on these descriptive stuff after my next exam,
probably end of next week or something like that. I've some
ideas about it but no real world code yet.
