Sure. Thats why I stated for the package maintainers that
such things should live in global data dirs like share/scid/

I found this impact negligible compared to the ratings file
e.g.

This would be a good thing, indeed! (Also considering my
statement above ;)

Maybe beyond the scope in this context, but I think that
also a DB independent player profile, based upon data like
the photo files, the rating file etc. could be interesting.
Some sort of CB's playerbase.
