This works for me in my first test, at least if I put ProDeo in a 
directory where I have write permissions. (Say unzipping the archive in 
~/.scid). I was not successful to install it as root in 
/opt/chess/DOS/ProDeo16 and run it from there as user.

I tried to run ProDeo for analysis as well as a quick "serious game" 
where I consider the latter probably the most interesting feature of 
having ProDeo available in Scid for most users.

I would call ProDeo's UCI support: "inspired by UCI" but surely not
