Hi Andreas,
thanks for expressing the intention of supporting the project.
I agree that resources are necessary to make a truly professional software, but 
I honestly don't think the donations would reach a significant amount. With the 
disadvantage that I would feel morally obliged to work and spend more time on 
the project, even if it would not make sense from an economic point of view.

There are a few things that I hope I would finish before the end of the year:
- the new engine window. It allows to change the engine parameters without 
restarting it, adds options like the one asked in the last mailing-list message 
(the possibility to not wrap move lines), allows to use engines that run on 
other networked computers, and it will also not have all the bugs of the old 
one.
- support for chess360
- a new database format that can import and store PGNs with lots of games, such 
as those at database.lichess.org
