I've said this before: Kirk's death in that movie was bogus, both because they shouldn't have killed Kirk, and because it sucked. I know Kirk said in Star Trek V that "I've always known I'd die alone", but it somehow wasn't a fitting way to go for one of Starfleet's greatest captains, dying on some out-of-the-way planet. In a big battle with the Klingons or something? Hell yeah!
My other continuing thought is, how hard would it be to bring Kirk back? That freakin' Nexus played all kinds of havoc with time, it kept Kirk alive in a fantasy world after his accident on the Enterprise B, it even created a sentient "ghost" of Guinan. All that power, and it's not even close to a stretch to say the Nexus energies revived Kirk--same as the Genesis Effect did Spock. I'm surprised Abrams is taking this "too late know 'cause of hte strike". If i could have thought of this months ago, why couldn't he? For that matter, they could have simply crafted flashbacks (flashforwards?) that took place *before* Kirk died, allowing his character to be onscreen. How hard would that have been? I think they just didn't want to deal with Shatner... -------------- Original message -------------- From: "Tracey de Morsella (formerly Tracey L.
