Te first time I saw The Host I was a bit disappointed until I ruminated on it a bit. Then I had an aha moment. The Host is a good monster movie but it's a great family drama. The monster stuff is the sizzle but the family story is the meat of the picture. The monster is just the engine that drives the movie's plot of one man's redemption and the bonds of family.
