Too quick with the "Send". Addendum -- she only saw the flashing lasers and the
zippy spaceships, not the deep thought and moral/ethical implications of the
work. Not even LeGuin's "Earthsea" works could move her away from her stance.

This brings up a question that I heard on the radio last
night. Is scifi dying? Has writers in modern times forgotten what really makes
scifi tick is not a dependence on gadgets or powers but the story behind it.

Honestly, Keith, not a whit. I even change the channel if I fall across a
commercial for the show. I'll probably begin watching it in two years, when it
lands in syndication, just to see if I actually missed anything. Which I
doubt'll be the case.

I have to admit, I missed all of last season. A lot of the buzz I heard about
it from all over the place, though, was that "Heroes" wasn't very good. Some
say it was okay, better than the abbreviated season two, but nowhere nearly as
good as the debut season. Others--and that's a lot of folks--have said it's
just no longer a good show at all.

What do y'all say? Anyone here still faithfully watching? If so, what are your
thoughts on the show to date?
