Yeah, I hope she does well too. But from what i saw of "Eastwick" last night, don't expect it to stay around for long. The lead evil guy was irritating as hell. The women are okay and the plots have good potential, but I just don't see the show having the legs to be a hit. An interesting note: Rebecca Romijn and the dark-haired lady who's at least part Asian are working together again. They both worked together on the higly enjoyable series "Pepper Dennis", which i enjoyed, but which didn't get a chance to develop a following.

I think she got Eastwick and this part at the same time. Her chemistry with carter was so good, that they made it so she come back if Eastwick flops. They did something similar with ZenaWarrior Princess ( can’t remember her name) on BSG. For her sake, I hope Eastwick is a hit, it could really jumpstart her career whereas Eureka with land her on Burn Notice and Warehouse. Not bad, but why not do better. vFesides, Scifi cancels series in four years. I know! I really liked Tess! I think one thing she brought was a freshness and a much lighter tone to the main cast. Sally Richardson's Allison is a bit too uptight, due to her duties and responsibilities, and in earlier shows, having to care for her autistic son as a single mother. Later she fought her feelings for Carter, which in time made for a rather uncomfortable relationship between the two, and then she got back with stick-up-his-butt Nathan. Now of course she's lost her son and Nathan. I think they've made Allison just a bit too much on the other side of being officious, proper, and uptight. So when Tess arrived, with her easy manner, her joking ways, and her tendency to smile and laugh so quickly, i was immediately taken with her. i was also surprised to realize that I really liked her chemistry with Carter--way more than I ever liked the idea of Carter and Allison even when they were close to expressi ng their love for each other. Really hate to see Tess go, and I don't get the motivation. So, they want her to build a large telescopic array in Australia? But to my thinking, the tech being used is going to be Earth normal. In Eureka she had access to technology that's generations ahead of the rest of the planet, was managing a whole bunch of top-secret research products, got to work with Henry as he decrypts the wealth of information his spaceship's collected, and, got to run the place while Allison's on leave. You telling me she'd really give up all that just to build a new Very Large Array? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tracey de Morsella" <tdli...@multiculturaladvantage.com> To: scifinoir2@yahoogroups.com Sent: Wednesday, September 23, 2009 11:36:39 PM GMT -05:00 US/Canada Eastern Subject: RE: [scifinoir2] "Eureka" Star Jumping Shows? She was one of the best casting decisions they have made in two years From: scifinoir2@yahoogroups.com [mailto:scifino...@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of Keith Johnson Sent: Wednesday, September 23, 2009 6:40 PM To: scifinoir2@yahoogroups.com Subject: [scifinoir2] "Eureka" Star Jumping Shows? While watching the new ABS series "Modern Family" --the best new show I've seen so far, full of laughs--I saw a commercial for the new series "Eastwick". Starring Rebecca Romijn, it's about three women who live in the town from the book and movie, who discover they have magical abilities. As I was watching the cast, I noticed one of the women looked familiar. Checked it out on the Net, and sure enough, I was right. One of the witches is Jamie Ray Newman, who recently starred as Tess on "Eureka". http://abc.go.com/shows/eastwick/bio/kat-gardener/274807 Darn, guess that means Tess' recent move to Australia is permanent if this series is picked up? Or did the "Eureka" folks intend to write her out of the script anyway because she was always meant to be a temporary character, like Carter's sister or Henry's twice-lost love? I hope she comes back to "Eureka", because I doubt "Eastwick" will last, and I d oubt I'll watch it either way. Speaking of cast changes, anyone figure out why Nathan Stark, Carter's sister, Henry's love, and the Australian guy were all cut from the show as main characters?
