Our own people is also guilty of this. When the black film industry started
over time the stars became lighter and lighter. Lena Horne (may she RIP) and
other starlets were often chosen over darker skinned beauties that were just
as talented. That has mostly gone away culturally for our people but it
still appears in entertainment thanks to hollywood's distorted views of
beauty.

The question is how do we change that?
