After you described situation, that you have more than one student per project, and Kaushik Varanasi said that he had already done some work for sparse matrices project I decided that I won't be able to create competitive proposal for this year program. I think so because of late application and lack of time before deadline. But I am interested in scikit-learn project anyway and have subscribed to mailing list.
