Yes. The original anticipated use was for small numbers of errors being shown with indicators. Therefore the feature was implemented in a simple way without much thought about performance. The plain line indicators will draw fast but, for example, INDIC_SQUIGGLE will be slow as it is drawing a long sequence of short lines. If performance is an issue then you could convert this to using a long cached pixmap as the source of a copy onto the window.
