Dear Neil,
Windows 98 should work with CJK. When I started Scintilla I needed
to work with Japanese language source code on Windows 95 so that is
supposed to work. However, I don't currently have easy access to
Windows 9x so it doesn't see much testing.
Did you test Scintilla in "English" 95?
I have checked it again in English 98 SE.
It still cannot display the Japanese strings normally.
(The Japanese support has been ready.)
The side effects can be in any system message that uses text: if
Scintilla is a Unicode window then WM_SETTEXT will contain UTF-16
characters, rather than 8 bit characters.
I see.
