Nah SPerform is just equivilent to my SendEditor.  It's just that Delphi has much easier access to things like pointers and the fact that it does have a char type which vb doesn't.  :)

Just so you can see here's SPerform

function TScintillaBase.SPerform(Msg, wParam, lParam: Integer) : LongInt;
begin
  HandleNeeded;  // KV
  Result := SCPerform(sccmdctr, Msg, wParam, lParam);
end;

I think a lot of it is that most languages share a fairly common set of variable types.  VB does it's own little thing.  It's a weakness in VB deffinatly but I really wrote this because I thought it would be cool for all the vb people to have it.

Stewart,

Thanks for clearin! g up that point, however you realise that whats probably happening in Delphi is exactly the same as what you've done in VB, it's just that someone has done it for you.  You'd achieve the same effect in VB is you defined a sub-routine called SPerform.  Anyway it's you're control.

RE: Problem

I'm not sure exactly what it does but if I have 10 minutes I'll have a look, it may help if you have a look at the ScIDE project on SourceForge, which includes ScintillaNET, a C# (and therefore .NET) wrapper around Scintilla.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/scide

The main website (http://www.scide.net) is very tempremental and I havn't been able to get on it for a long time now.

PS, sorry about calling you Steve in the previous email, don't know why I did that :-).
