Greg Smith:
It really feels like selection of a folded region needs to be handled by Scintilla itself if this is to be useful...
I wouldn't expect or want this to be the default behaviour as interacting with hidden text can be confusing. You can already select all of a folded region if you want to with a mouse drag. It should be possible to implement your preferred behaviour by subclassing Scintilla (eventually every ambitious editor will subclass Scintilla for detailed control over mouse/keyboard) although it may also be possible to add to the set of notifications to give enough control over this to the container.
I notice that the MS .Net 2005 IDE adds a mark to the end of the line of a folded section that activates a call tip holding the folded code...,
There have been some patches for end-of-line folded markers on SourceForge but none look good enough yet.
What do you think about making the selection of a folded region part of Scintilla? I cannot see it breaking anyones code as this can only be instigated by the user, and it feels to me to be what the user would expect to happen.
I expect margin clicks to select lines, not sections. Neil _______________________________________________ Scintilla-interest mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.lyra.org/mailman/listinfo/scintilla-interest
