From the PHP manual @ php.net:
"If a backslash needs to occur before a single quote or at the end of
the string, you need to double it. Note that if you try to escape any

I already made the same remark and quote... in SF.net.
I used to do the same as you, but now I think answering to the mailing
list is useless (more or less) because the poster of the bug report
might not read it.
Of course, your remark might be of interest of regular readers of the
ML, but those interested by the problem might have already took a look
at the SF.net page.
