I have never tried to get 16 bit apps to work with SciTE. Since piping it through another script works that sounds like a reasonable solution. Otherwise you could try investigating the subsystem setting or interposing a copy of cmd.exe or altering the call that runs the command.
Is it possible to trigger that what F4 (next errors) does automatically, when an error is seen?
