Hello,

Just wanted to let you know the progress and my thoughts. First, I've
noticed some people are writing USB drivers for Linux, I'm very close to
having a hotplug plugin available for Linux. To use multiple USB readers
by the same make/model for now in /etc/reader.conf

Give them both the same name
Give them the same library
Give them the same deviceid
Give them
CHANNELID 0x00200001
CHANNELID 0x00200002
...

they will be recognized as USB readers and named accordingly.

My latest release of pcsc-lite (0.8.6) uses the same library for multiple
readers (ie: it's only loaded once and the Lun distinguishes each reader
so USB drivers that want the ability to have multiple readers must keep
track of each reader in the driver.). This is not released yet and I
wanted to get your feelings on this. It works great on OS X.

Also, Marcus from IBM in Zurich has released a jpcsc program which give a
fully working Java to C interface for PC/SC Lite that works both in Linux
and Windows. I will release that in the next couple of days.

Let me know your ideas for the next release and I'll get them in....

Dave
