Rrtl cards sometimes have problems when youre transferring large amounts
of data accross a network (stops responding) - but I doubt that's the
problem...

RH7 I dunno that much about apart from it got a lot of bad press.  Have
you tried running the dhcp client by hand?  Usually something along the
lines of :

dhclient -i eth0

And see what it says?
