I've decided i've wasted enough time looking at the
BSOD and its now time to install linux on my laptop.
The only thing holding me back for this (Besides
waitint on the cable modem) is potential compatability
and software issues.

The laptop that i want to install to is an IBM
Thinkpad, 390x, 4gb hdd, 192mb ram. Ati Graphics
card.

Basically i need to know, how well any connectivity
software that uses infra red ports work, especially if
anybody has had any experience with them.

How well APM stuff works with IBM laptops - I need to
squeeze every second out of my battery.

How things like removable CDroms/floppies etc work.

If anybody has any experiences good or bad or knows of
anybody else who has...
Can you please let me know.

Cheers

David
