Yep, I've don't that trick: trying to slide a floppy in whilst holding a
piece of paper in just the right place is definitely a skill ...
Off the top of my head, I can't remember what's the different between PC
and Amiga formats. AFAIK both use MFM encoding (fixed angular speed, like
vinyls). The guist of the problem is the floppy controller on the Amiga is
far more flexible that the one on a PC. It was also rumoured that the
Amiga could even read GCR formated disks (as used by Apples) which have
variable angular speed (like CDs).
The short answer is it is impossible for a PC to read or write using the
Amiga format (without extra hardware)
