I'm assuming there is a good reason for you using
debian on your laptop. (hmm. well, can't think of one
right now but anyway...) Debian can be installed in
quite a number of ways. If your laptop has a network
card which is usable or a pcmcia network card you
could press alt-f2 and use the prompt to load your
network card, place the cd in another machine and
export the file system to your laptop, easiest is
probably nfs,

add something allong the lines of

/mnt/cdrom 123.123.123.123(ro,no_root_squash)

where 123.123.123.123 is your laptops network
address
you could also use smb.

Once you have the file system available on the laptop
continue to install using the file system option.

alternativly export the cd as using FTP or http and
install that way (usually a bit more difficult)

or you could copy the files on to your laptop hard
disk and install that way.

Sometimes network installs can be a nightmare if
something silly is upsetting the installer.

Good luck
