I'd like to think I do have commercial experience. Although my applications aren't exactly flying out the door (i.e. these results may not be 'statistically relevant') 10% response is about what I get from agencies, less from direct ads. Someone once suggested to me that a lot of job ads are really trolls to track down new sales leads - they assume your referees are also potential employers and call them up. The _really_ unscrupulous ones are then in a position to point out that a member of staff is now looking for another job!
