Not quite. Easynet for one got in on the Local Loop Unbundling action. So can offer an end-end service that doesn't traverse BT's managed network or terminate at their DSLAMs. http://www.easynet.net/solutions/solutions_solutionpage.asp?id=117# At a guess this would mean they could even deploy using PPPoE instead of PPPoA if they wanted, if they own the wires. Not to mention *very* fast pipes if your quite near an exchange. I used to work for another broadband provider that looked into it. Unfortunately the cost of equipment etc along with DSL take-up meant it wasn't worth it. Also BT kept putting back the LLU date, apparently the exchanges needed a tidy. That'll be the kettles, cups and erm, magazines.
