Hi, I am going to graduate from my university and GSoC 2014 may be my last chance to take part in it. I am interested in search engine before I can write code. After I learned programming I tried to write some scripts to get data and prase it from the web. I am interested in this idea because I have experences in other language like C/C++, PHP an Java. In Oct, 2013, I write an script in PHP to download classroom occupied information from website of my university and prase it. Then when I go to teaching building I know which classroom is empty. I heard scrapy for a long time but just tried it these days. Now I am reading the documention. >From the description could I conclude that this idea is to write scrapy in other languages? If so, it may be a huge work, I think. I did not have experience in GSoC so I do not know how many students can take part in one project, and I worry about that this idea maybe too difficult for one student. Or this idea will be a long term plan?
