I think it would be wonderful if we had a way of inheriting from
another
mapping mode. Maybe we could have a shared base for devel, simple and
maemo_simple. This could reduce maintenance. Meanwhile I'm pushing

in anyway.
Yeap, I thought the same. I'll put it my to-do list.
This is also on our (Maemo's) to-do list. I think that it is even
quite easy to implement, now when the system already supports rule
hierarchies/trees, and the rule file is already created from several
parts at startup for each session.
However, we haven't implemented that yet because I think that we
should first complete the new configuration system (the idea is that
separate subsystems should be separately configurable, and also it
should be possible to change some settings, like cpu transparency,
without having to run sb2-init again)
