Just an idea, and perhaps its been mentioned already (havent been following that closely :)).
Why not generate a list of required actions to be coded in whatever format, ie: bold italic emphasised paragraph title etc Eg, Linux Magazine uses the formats shown at: http://www.linux-magazine.com/Writers/Format And instead of enforcing one system on users, create a few dictionary files, and the "Pro Publisher Importer" get text importer can perform lookups based on a dictionary supplied. In this way, a publishing company can create their own versions for each they require if one of the Scribus ones isnt appropriate.
