Not sure what you mean by "the operation fails" -- the PDF won't be created? You get an error? Sometimes I have thought an image failed to load when really it was only shown at default scaling -- try Adjust Image to Frame and see if that helps. Otherwise, you might try getting a more up-to-date Scribus. You should be able to get 1.4.0rc2 at least, if not rc3. See if that helps -- you don't have to delete your 1.3.3.14 to add a more recent version. Greg
