Andreas,
You could use either Actors or a Verbs, depending on what you want to
do.
Here's a few situations i can cook up:
A) You have scrolling credits
No camera needed.
Use a set of verbs, one for each line. If you are using SCUMM V6, make
sure you put a transparent object behind where the scrolling occurs
and change its state every time you scroll the verbs, otherwise you
will get overdraw.
B) You are making some sort of intro sequence with the camera smoothly
moving left / right.
If you want smooth movement, i would probably try following an actor
with cameraFollowActor.
C) You've got a long or tall scene and you need to quickly pan from
one end to the next
Split it up into at least two rooms, and call screenEffect before you
switch to the next room using the appropriate effect (see Alban's
function reference).
Either that, or use one room and panCameraTo. Note though that i have
not explicitly used this before, so i don't know how good the pan will
be.
