Thanks for the help and suggestions, everyone - especially Alban. It was a great success. I put a flash video of it up here: http://coqdiddles.blogspot.com/2009/01/im-mighty-fianc.html I used scummtr.exe to extract the text, Notepad (and, when I thought better of it, TextPad) to modify the dialog, and scummtr.exe to import it back into the MI2's resource file.
If you want detailed instruction on the command line switches, just ask. It's pretty self-explanatory, though. Thanks again, Kristian
