I'm more interested in why this functionality was introduced at all in 4.1 if it is not feature-complete. At an object-level without being version or language-aware there is limited use for object states, and if such changes are to occur in 4.2 what type of BC breaks could be expected in the coming release? It seems a little pointless and error-prone to me.

I'm still wondering though if this series of articles are meant as a replacement for new items that used to be added to the documentation section at ez.no when new eZ Publish features were introduced? Or will there also be put efforts again in keeping the user manual (http://ez.no/doc/ez_publish/user_manual), technical manual (http://ez.no/doc/ez_publish/technical_manual) and upgrade documentation (http://ez.no/doc/ez_publish/upgrading) up to date with the latest releases?
