I hate to be a bearer of bad news and i'm sure that many of you may feel
the need to trash me as not truly a fan, but my friend--also a big sdre
fan--listened to a promo of the new album, and here's what he says:

"i must say that i am incredibly disappointed. i don't understand what
others are saying...the songs are not very good at all. yes, how it
feels to be something on was a "mature" album, but it still sounded like
sunny day real estate...this album sounds like a totally different band.
the story is told in the producer...lou giordano, who has produced goo
goo dolls, paul westerberg and live...mainstream acts who sound very
slick...the production on the album is eerily perfect, the guitars sound
huge, everything just sounds not sdre. yes, the songs are well crafted
and textured, but they're just not very fun to listen to, and you don't
feel as though you are listening to the new sdre album. The ocean and
one are my favorites on the album, but i would still take anything from
the first three albums over those songs any day."

Sorry. We can all hope he's wrong.

Scott
