I have an Apple Airport Extreme - which I bought in Jan 2008. It still
works quite well, though obviously w/o the latest in wifi standards (no
802.11ac or 802.11n dual band, but it does do n). I also have a couple
airport expresses and use Airplay a lot.  The Apple router is not as
flexible as some, but its very easy to maintain and just hands out in the
attic, working reliably day after day.
