(313) Recording from PC to MD... was RE: (313) mixer advice
sorry to keep this OT thread going, i'm a fan of my portable MD and thought Sony's NetMD stuff was pants but found a cool (and cheap!) product that allows you to get ripped/downloaded/streaming audio from your PC to MD without having to upgrade your MD an aussie company xitel produces a USB device allowing you to record from your PC direct to your mindisc recorder and its compatible with all recording decks. You plug it in, load up the audio files you want to record from your player of choice and hit record. i think the MDPort-DG2 sells for about $50 USD, and Sony sell their products rebadged at an inflated price too! http://www.xitel.com/ cheers Dang (not a sales rep for xitel) - Original Message - One cautionary word of advice though. If you hope to record to minidisc, then dump the song into NetMD, this will not work b/c of copy protection measures, so you actually need to do it analogue-style. I was a bit disappointed by that. And that is precisely when and where Sony dropped the ball on MD. Shame, really. Especially since this is completely unclear until after you make the purchase (if you are an idiot electronics impulse shopper like myself anyway). This message is for the named person's use only. Bense [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, 23 April 2002 4:12 To: 313; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [313] Pump Up The Volume? - UK tv-special - what happened? Hey folks... A few months back there was some discussion about this program which aired on UK television... all about house/techno, electronic music roots, etc. It was very informative and I was able to obtain a copy THE FIRST EPISODE in mpeg format. One of the list-members was supposedly mailing a copy of subsequent segments on videocassette [in PAL format, I might add] to someone in the US for encoding on some website or something... for encoding. Well... it doesn't seem like it ever appeared online [afaik]... If it did, great.. someone please e-mail me and put me in my place. =) IF not, I'd really like to get ahold of a dub of the original -- I found a place here where I am locally that will do the PAL -- NTSC conversion for very cheap. I'd also be willing to provide copies to N. American [read: NTSC] listmembers for a nominal fee. So, can someone help me spread the love here? ./peter - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] This message is for the named person's use only.
