Not that one, the one with the funky organ line and the female vocal mixed in from another record. Isn't this a good metphor for house vs. techno? Detroit house is deep underground, Detroit techno is deep underwater? I was also wondering which artist, Detroit in particular, currently use 808's in their setups? kooky scientist Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Return-Path: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Errors-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-originating-IP: 4.17.247.11 X-Originating-Account: jdm X-Complaints-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Sent-by: web interface - mirrors.rochester.rr.com/email Re: [313] OT? The 313 (connection) Oh how I love all the early Claude Young house projects, on labels like Dow, Utensil Serious Grooves etc. They embodied the rawness of Detroit at that time (92-95?). Does anyone else have favorites from that timeframe by the 2nd or 3rd Wave Artists ? One of my all time favorites is the first Serious Grooves under his Lowkey guise (a collaboration with Santonio) Ranforest Love Magic. All this nostalgia has got me thinking. Does anyone have any old mixes of Claude off the Radio back in (94-95?) would love to trade tapes or something else. Smiles all around, David for the life of me I cant remember the original. its been used by altern8 and (for 313 content) claude young on the 'dub street posse' ep claude youngs 'concentration factor' ep on d'jax and the second punisher ep on matrix Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Return-Path: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Errors-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-originating-IP: 4.17.247.1 X-Originating-Account: jdm X-Complaints-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Sent-by: web interface - mirrors.rochester.rr.com/email The 313 (connection) Oh how I love all the early Claude Young house projects, on labels like Dow, Utensil Serious Grooves etc. They embodied the rawness of Detroit at that time (92-95?). Hey group!
What kind of subjects are actually defined as on topic for this group? My first impression is that Techno talk and anything that has to do with techno is on topic. Is this inaccurate? Wraith313 www.mp3.com/wraith313 www.outrecords.com that depends what you consider 'techno' ;p Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Return-Path: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Errors-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-originating-IP: 4.17.247.12 X-Originating-Account: jdm X-Complaints-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Sent-by: web interface - mirrors.rochester.rr.com/email Hey group! I guess, that Carl Craig didn't know who Marco Carola was??? The US booking
contact for Marco told me that they offered Carola and some other well know swedish-type techno artists and Carl Craig was not familiar. Cheers! Dennis i can confirm this, though i think the 'book contact' might be a tad bit gullible... =) Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Return-Path: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Errors-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-originating-IP: 4.17.247.1 X-Originating-Account: jdm X-Complaints-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Sent-by: web interface - mirrors.rochester.rr.com/email I guess, that Carl Craig didn't know who Marco Carola was???
