Curtis is a top producer with a real quirkyness to the sound, we cannot all
be too serious.
I think Rush owes a bit to him.

I think he is a better producer as his DJing leaves a little to be desired;
mainly because he is always so plastered.

I am off to see him this Friday with Ben Sims. He is performing as Cajmere
doing a techno set.
Could someone please tell me whether I was rightin think that when he used
to perform as Caj was when he was playing his Cajual sound because now I am
being told different? I'm sure I am right.

Tats.

Thanks to all that responded. Green Velvet, Preacher Man. This Green
Velvet chap is pretty good, isn't he? Innovative I think is the word, a
quality which is getting rarer these days (in techno at least). Nice
 programming.

cajmere (out) used to equal the cajual sound - you are correct. 4-5
years ago, that is.

It's a recent change the way I understand it.

I Thought that :

Cajmere = house (ie brighter days etc)

Green Velvet = Techno/tech house (ie stalker/preacher man)

mind you having said that perculator is still very gv sounding and i think
he released that as cajmere so i might shut up now

but i'm still waiting to see him in any guise :(

I think he made the switch to Cajmere for most dj gigs house and/or techno
when he closed the doors on Cajual and used Green Velvet for live PA's. I
recently purchased a mix cd by him on Under the Cajmere alias that is
straight up techno. All of the stuff is quirky minimal Steve Rachmad /
Rotation imprint sort of stuff. Past couple of live sets he has done down
south were under the Velvet alias.

there's some stuff released as Cajmere iirc, and some Dajae mixes were
done as Cajmere, around early to mid nineties.

From what I've read in interviews, it's Cajmere for the housier side of

things and Green Velvet for the techno side of things.
