But i am still confused as i get the same answer from everywhere.

Let me clear our application flow.

Actually we are building an application, where normal users will connect 
their adword account by going through OAuth Authentication process.
After Authentication, they should be able to create campaign from our 
website. But we have to pass customerid for every request.How to get that 
customerID? as Authentication process doesn't return it. 

ManagedCustomerService 

  
will be used if client account is added in MCC account. But what if any 
random user, who is not under any MCC account wants to use our application 
. How he can achieve this ? I have seen many websites doing this But i 
didn't get any solution yet .

Please do the needful.

InvalidClicks are only available through reports 

 
via the AdWords API. Unfortunately, there does not appear to be a way of 
detecting these clicks then banning them from ads.

Targeting Idea Service STATS CollectionSizeError.TOO_MANY

I am getting a CollectionSizeError.TOO_MANY error when requesting stats for 
800 keywords since July 28th. Before that it was working fine.

Documentation says 800 is the limit: 
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/limits#targetingidea

After some testing I determined the internal limit is now 700 (701 fails). 
Is the limit 700 now?

You could use the GetCampaigns.java example 

 in 
the client library, but modify it slightly to also include the selector 
field *CampaignField.AdvertisingChannelType*. You can see the complete list 
of selector fields either on the CampaignField enum in the library 

 or 
on the Selector fields page 
. 
As a general rule, the AdWords API will only return fields that you include 
in your selector.

Hi T. M. Simanis,

Since this is the first time you are trying to run the GetRefreshToken 
example in a new Eclipse environment, I would suggest the following to 
correctly run the Java class:

   1. Open GetRefreshToken.java file in your eclipse IDE
   2. Right click anywhere on the code
   3. Click on Run as > Java Application

If that doesn't help, unfortunately we would not be able to provide support 
since this might be an issue with your local environment. 

Also, the steps to get started with your PHP environment (to fetch the 
campaigns list for example) are listed in the README.md of this github 
repository .

are no longer supporting or updating the beta AdWords Utility Extension. If 
you would like to continue to use the extension, you are free to do so, but 
you will have to update it for new versions of the AdWords API in your own

Change API Path to ecommerce store

Hello,

I have an ecommerce store that is connected to my GMC via the ecommerce 
platform acct link. Recently though, I installed SSL on my website and this 
disrupted the link changing both the API Path and Token. When I went to 
update the information I see that the api path field is gray, so I can't 
edit it. Does anyone know how to solve this issue so I can update my api 
path and token info?

I am getting the same CollectionSizeError.TOO_MANY error when requesting 
stats for 800 keywords since July 28th. Before that it was working fine.
Documentation still says 800 is the 
limit:

After some testing I determined the internal limit is now 700 (701 fails). 
Is the limit 700 now?

Click bots fraud + API automation

Hi,

sorry if this was asked many times. AdWords support from Twitter show me 
this group.

So - one of mine customers have HUGE problem with click bots. For 3-4 days 
they have over 6k invalid clicks. So we're looking for some automation 
process of detecting fraud click and banning them for our ads.
Is there some PHP example about that so i can evaluate it and tweak it our 
own needs?

PS: I know that this isn't holy grail but we're looking only for temporary 
solution against this.

Hi Mounica,

Unfortunately, there is no way to log the SOAP calls without using the 
App.config. In case you decide to use App.config, your best option to log 
into the database would be to read the output log file, parse the XML 
request and response objects as necessary and insert relevant fields into a 
database table.

current (v201606) and sunset (v201605 & v201605) versions of the AdWords 
API.

When the converted clicks metric is deprecated, will the behaviour of the 
ConversionTrackingSettings 

 change 
in any way? 

For example, if our tool attempts to set conversionOptimizerMode to 
ONE_PER_CLICK, will the API return an error?
Or will it return no error and set conversionOptimizerModeto MANY_PER_CLICK 
by default?
Or, something else?

Any information you can provide that will help us avoid unexpected API 
usage problems would be greatly appreciated.

If an application makes a high number of requests per second on a single 
AdWords account, then the AdWords API server may return a RateExceededError 
within the Account scope. The RateExceededError will contain the 
retryAfterSeconds field which is the suggested number of seconds the 
application should wait before retrying the request. In most cases, 
retrying the request based on RetryAfterSeconds is enough to recover from 
the RateExceededError.

This article 
 provides 
more details on Rate limits and how to handle the RateExceededError. If you 
continue to encounter this error even after implementing a throttling 
mechanism, please provide the customer ID (xxx-xxx-) which is 
encountering this error and I'll further investigate.

Will "CustomerSynchService.get" operations report clearing of Target CPA and Conversion Optimizer bid mods?

I've read the blog post concerning the impending clearing of platform bid 
modifiers for Target CPA and Conversion Optimizer campaigns that is planned 
to begin in late August available here:

It's a very informative posting and my thanks to the AdWords API Team in 
taking the time to document this in great detail!

One question that I have concerns whether or not these changes will be 
reported by all-currently-supported API versions of the 
CustomerSynchService.

If a customer within the AdWords UI were to make the same changes in his 
account that are listed beneath the section in the blog posting with the 
heading "Here are some changes that you’ll see in your account before the 
new features launches", then I would expect those various changes to be 
available via calls to the CustomerSynchService.get operation in the data 
that is returne for:

CustomerSynchService.AdgroupChangeData.removedAdGroupBidModifier
CustomerSynchService.CampaignChangeData.removedCampaignCriterion
CustomerSynchService.CampaignChangeData.addedCampaignCriterion

So will the changes that AdWords makes to clear the bid modifiers be 
reported back via CustommerSyncService.get calls in the same way that they 
would if the customer had performed those same changes in the AdWords UI.

how to update TARGET_CPA AdDroup

It used to work some versions ago, but lately I have problem setting CPA 
for a TARGET_CPA bidding strategy adgroup. The code I am using has no 
effect.
Here it is:

I realize this is a *very* old issue at this point, but I came across it 
today and tried out the report request again, and filtering for rows with 
CpcBid > 0 now excludes rows without a CpcBid, as expected.

How to enable soap request and response logging in Adwords API.

In my project, we are not using app.config, instead we are initializing the 
config properties while declaring the AdWords User like this.

want to use app.config. Is there any possibility to log them using code. 
Also, i want to log to database. Any examples would be helpful.

The RATE_EXCEEDED error with rateScope=*ACCOUNT* occurs when the 
application makes a high number of requests on a single account. You can 
refer to our rate limits guide 
 for 
more information regarding this error. You may also check out the best 
practices guide

tips on how to avoid such errors.

Should the issue persist, kindly provide any SOAP request and response so 
we could further investigate. Please reply using *Reply privately to author* in 
doing so.

I tried Targeting Idea Service.

RequestType: STATS
Keyword Volume: 100

Error log:
E, [2016-06-30 16:14:06#10803] ERROR -- : get_keyword_ideas error

Error occurrence rate: 9/100

I carried out STATS of 100KW. And an error occurred 9 times. Why does such 
error occur?
If there is a plan to avoid, please instruct.

You may refer to the AdvertisingChannelType 

 field 
of Campaign Performance Report. However, you will have multiple instances 
of the different values of this field since it is not segmented in 
behavior. You could use the field as a predicate to further trim your 
results based on the possible values of the field.
