Re: [arr] How is KMC different from whistling woods?
Hi friends though most of u dnt know me i have been here for quite a long time...and as far as i know whistling woods is restricted to films...but KMMC is a music conservatory which means there would be a strict course structure...and its just like another college i mean at a university level where music will be taught i am studying about conservatories and i have been in good contact with people from a music consevatory in NUS(national university of singapore)... The infrastructure required for any performing art is quite high and so is for both KMMC and WW. In a conservatory students are taught individual instruments and they are made to practice individually and in ensembles that means a group of four or five or may be even less depending upon the type of music ... They also have concert halls, recital studios, recording studios, orchestra halls etc... So WW is majorly for acting and the other arts surrounding it like dancing, singing, playing music, directionetc.and KMMC is a institute of a differrent kind and first in india..there are many around the world.. regards sivaram. --- arr pavan <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Dude both are schools for exploring talents. Re: [arr] How is KMC different from whistling woods?
Dude both are schools for exploring talents. But WW is FOR FILMS OF FILMS BY FILMS wherein KMMC is exclusively FOR MUSIC OF MUSIC BY MUSIC & this KMMC is not only for film music. It deals with all kinds of music to find talents & make them survive the best on their own specialities in many ways including composing. AR said they can earn from music by participating in any country's music troupe with self-confidence like other professional courses do. That is how the cost matters. WW is not for creating their own Symphony Orchestra. They may teach a general course on how to produce music, sound recording, re-recording, arranging, co-ordinating techniques for films. WW is not for teaching basics of music to advanced level and in various genres & KMMC is doing that with an additional aim of discovering Indian Symphony Orchestra competing with world standards after few years where they able to play any kind of music. This is really a great move from AR. None of the film music directors in Indian history so far, have gone to this extent of achievement in short span. Re: [arr] How is KMC different from whistling woods?
Whistling woods is a institute focussing on each department related to Show biz business..That is..Acting,Animations,Cinematography,Editing,Direction etc etc... KMC focusses on each and every department related to Music. As they have put in the official site "The vision of the KM Music Conservatory is to develop and nurture an education in music for all who have the passion to learn. We hope to expand the horizons of musicians in India by creating an awareness of Western music and Music Technology, while continuing to respect and strengthen the art of Indian music." This is just my view point and as per my understanding... Hi Thulasi, I know very less about Whistling woods, but as far as I know, its an acting and media school of International level. Here students can learn acting/animation,direction,editing etc. which are diffrent disciplines of Film production. Whistling Woods I believe is for nurturing Film Talent i.e. Acting, Directing etc . and KMC is purely for Music, Sound Engineering, Orchestration etc ( As told by Subhash Ghai himself in his interview in Rahmania to Raihanaji) On Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 8:56 AM, Thulasi Ram <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > can anyone plz throw some light on the question in the subject. a fren > of mine asked this question to me and i had no answer. i know that Subhash > Ghai started whistling wood last year sometime and ARR inaugrated it but how > different is KMC from whistling woods? > > -- regards, Vithur HELP EVER; HURT NEVER; LOVE ALL; SERVE ALL
