Re: Talkback gets a new sound theme That would probably not be hard at all. Indirectly you could always decompile the apk or even get the source, compile it yourself after replacing the sounds. You would, however, be running a fork, so you'd have to change that every time an update comes out. A themes manager would be better. I wonder if it would be hard to integrate that. It's old, it's outdated, and the last firmware release was probably 4.1.2. My advice would be to find a custom rom for it if there is one around, or if not, just sell the phone on Gazelle. You wouldn't want to give the friend that phone knowing they'll not only never get the latest version of android, but are running a version of android that is anything but supported by most manufacturers. Trust me, I've been there. Purchasing the Samsung Galaxy Tab was a mistake, because I ended up in the same predicament. When I sold my nexus 5 on the blind-buy-sell-trade list, I flashed the latest version that was an unofficial aosp port since that device wouldn't officially get Nougat. That way the person getting the phone could run the latest version. Re: Talkback gets a new sound theme Hi.At the time of its release, TalkBack 5.1 was the first to only run on Android 5.1 and newer, which the majority of devices probably run on these days. If you have Android 4.4 or earlier, or even Android 5.0, you only got a bugfix release, TalkBack 5.0.7. This version is the last version to run on Android 5.0 or earlier, so if you want TalkBack 5.2 and other versions to come, it's time to update your Android device if you have not done so already to the latest version that is available for that specific device. Only thing now is , I wish I could turn off multiwindow view on Lineage on my S5. Not a big enough screen for this in all times it's used. Sure, it's not the pre-later jellybean theme from older talkback, but it's not midi either. Combination of old sounds and some new ones, pretty good! They actually slightly improved the scrolling sound too to have a wider pitch range, which is good.
