[biz] Toronto Voip Providers

2009-12-10 Thread Ivan Avery Frey
Is there a current list of Toronto VOIP providers? Any providers you
recommend? I'm setting my friend up with a Voip phone line and I've
already bought the Linksys PAP2T-NA.

Personally I'm using les.net and unlimitel.ca, and have been happy with
their service.

2009-12-10 Thread simon
Oh right, he said Toronto. I use les mostly for termination in Winnipeg
where a good part of my family is, and works great. I assume he has T1's
coming in there. I don't know how the termation in Toronto is.

I also use les for termination in China. That's less reliable, and I
balance it with callwith.us which is also spotty calling China. I would
chase them down and help diagnose, but those are all personal calls, and
I just switch back and forth whenever one is performing badly.

2009-12-10 Thread Michael Cottenden
I used Les.net in a pinch for my 30 user Halifax office while
resolving a Sangoma/Aliant issue. I only had one issue in 3 weeks of
use, with termination to Bermuda. Opened a support ticket and the
issue was resolved in 20 min. Obviously my experience was short, but I
was impressed.

Re: [biz] RE: [on-asterisk] Mediatrix channel resellers in GTA

2009-12-10 Thread Stephan Monette
Bruce,

The MTX2102 is designed to be connected between your modem and your router and
manages it's own QOS for VoIP.

The MTX1102 is designed to be connected behind your router with no QOS. This is
the only difference (software) between the 2 units.

We sell the MTX2102 to our customers and we never hear about them unless the
customer has some issues with their internet connection.

We sold over 500 units and we only got 2 DoA (dead on arrival) units. This is
the only 2 units we had to RMA in the past 5 years.

That said, they're not the cheapest around, but your support cost is very low.

Good luck.

Thanks for the great clarification Stephan. QOS makes a big difference in some

[biz] Looking for a couple of SPA508G

2009-12-10 Thread Dave Donovan
Hi everyone,

Does anyone have one or two Cisco SPA508Gs on hand?

Ideally, I'd like to pick up tomorrow in the GTA. I live at Yonge/Sheppard
and work at Airport/Steeles, if you want to drop off for a reasonable fee,
I'd welcome that too.

Payment by Visa, Amex or you can invoice Net 30 if you prefer. It's for
work, so I'll need an invoice/receipt.

Thanks,

Dave
