Hey ravi,

I believe it means that mgcp packets was disrupted in between transmission
resulting in packet loss etc. This error implies that there is a bug in the
ios. Try upgrading the ios and check

2012-07-12 Thread Justin McIntyre
the trick here is in your patterns digit analysis. You need the put the
expected digits to seperate LD from say Local or international

try this out and see what happens ...

911 - marked as urgent priority
9.[2-9]XX - discard digit predot
90112.XXX- discard digit predot

and of course you can change this how you wan to but you need to differentiate
betwwen Local, LD and Int dialing. The way to do this is with the prepending
digits...so for NANP dialing you would have..

911 urgent

9.[2-9]XX local 7 digit

9.1[2-9]..[2-9].. LD 11 digit (10 digit will always work)

9.011! international pattern

now enblock or digit by digit analysis will succeed.

Hi,

I have the following route patterns on CUCM that have a mgcp gateway in
route list:
911 - marked as urgent priority
9.XXX - discard digit predot
91112.XXX- discard digit predot
Because those are overlapping route patterns, their behaviour is different
depending if enbloc dialing is used or not:

If it is a G phone, you will need to select 7941G-GE from the list.

it could be a replication problem
if it says reject reset the phone quite a few times and it will register

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] (no subject)

2011-06-19 Thread Roger Carpio
Santiago,

This is a question I would expect from an end user; not someone who's
preparing for the CCIE Lab. Please do your homework; get detailed sdi/sdl
traces, app logs, packet captures and if those don't give you the answer;
forward them to me and I'll take a look at them.

Please don't take it personal, we've all went thru basic configuration
issues when we started but let's just try to keep the distribution list at
expert level as much as possible. Perhaps if you ask for help telling us
what you have done; you wouldn't receive an answer like mine.

Finally, from my experience; look at the back of the IP phone and make sure
you are adding the correct phone model in CUCM. An App log will easily show
you this mismatch if that were the case.

Regards,
Roger Carpio.

If the phone is added as SCCP in but is running SIP firmware that can cause the
problem, also make sure you have a non-secure profile set on the phone too.

You can use IP Blue soft phone for some applications, especially the PSTN
phone.

You can use X-Lite for SIP phone and you can also share phones between
sites.

Be sure to get the lab version of IP blue so you can run 5 instances at
once. This lets you receive calls very easily so you could take hardware
phones to where your testing features from and use softphones for the other
side of the call.

Be advised that some features are not supported on softphones so when in
doubt, test with a hardware phone.

To replicate the lab scenario you should have 3 phones at hq, 2 at sites
br1/br2
and 1 pstn phone. Pstn phone can be 7960. Others should be 7965 or 7962 for

Hi Waleed,

The question says - Users hqph2 and br1ph2 (mailbox users) press the Messages
button and then press # to go get opening greeting. FROM THERE they should be
able to dial extensions which do not have a mailbox on unity ie 5001,1001 etc.
Is that what you are trying to do ? Its not for users who dont have a mailbox

I have done this and it works everytime.

I already done that. Did you do it from user phone with mailbox ? It only works
with users with no mailbox. Did anyone answer task 4.4 in lab 7 volume 2 ? Any
one can assist me to solve this task. Clear steps will be more accurate. Please
see my problem below:

Connection between cucm and unity connection is sip trunk. All CSSs of trunk
contain partitions of phones. The issue is not with transferring. Users with no
mailbox can be transferred to any number they dial during opening greeting, so
problem is not with transferring. The problem is with users who have mailboxes.
When I press the message button and login, I can't dial any number during the
greeting. It says invalid entry. It only allows the predefined options of the
greeting to choose from (eg. 1 for new messages, 2 to send messages, etc).

Thanks in advance

Do not enter your password when prompted, just press # that should transfer you

Iam asked to configure unity connection to allow phones with mailbox to press
message button and then can be transferred to any number during opening
greeting. This can be done by callers with no mailbox but not ones with
mailboxes. The solution guide solves this by checking "Allow Transfers to

opening greeting system call handler. I tried this but didn't work. Any ideas ?

I assume you already have "Allow Transfers to Numbers Not Associated with Users
or Call Handlers " option checked.

Make sure that in User Input for the call handler you don't have "locked"
digits (that means, they don't prevent sending digit strings longer then 1
digit)

Hi Prashant,

Connection between cucm and unity connection is sip trunk. All CSSs of trunk
contain partitions of phones. The issue is not with transferring. Users with no
mailbox can be transferred to any number they dial during opening greeting, so
problem is not with transferring. The problem is with users who have mailboxes.
When I press the message button and login, I can't dial any number during the
greeting. It says invalid entry. It only allows the predefined options of the
greeting to choose from (eg. 1 for new messages, 2 to send messages, etc).
Any other ideas ?

Waleed

I skipped pin when logging and tried pressing # then extension, but still
didn't work. The phone menu of the user is what Iam transferred to after login,
not opening greeting system handler. This means Iam only allowed to select
options in phone menu -->Touchtone Conversation-->Classic Conversation.

Waleed,

Do not enter your password when prompted, just press # that should transfer you
to the main greeting then you can dial a number.

Hi,

In PL WB 1 Lab 6 and onwards in the config tasks -prerequisites I see a NOTE:
If you are using your own hw cisco 7961 phones instead of 7962 phones, please
perform the following: first delete all 7962 phones and then run the BAT tool
for phone install. We have laready preprovisioned a file that you simply need
to import (and change MAC add) containing the 7961 phones types.

My question is where do I find this file to import? I am not getting any
response from ipexpert support team on this. Currently I just delete the 7962s
and add my 7961s.

Pls advise

The good news is that I finally passed the lab, the same week as the 2

I think, so a big thank you to everyone and stay with it those who have not
crossed the line yet as it is a very satisfying place to be.

I have not really been a major contributor to this this list but used it more

I have had a family break since passing and look forward to spending more time

I am up on pod 14 and things are ok. Try just reloading the turning on
and off the equipment that won't load for you. Also on of the Volume 2

2010-02-11 Thread Roger Källberg
Right, redistribution can wreck havoc in you network if not carefully
considered. :-)
Your right about that MGCP needs to lose connection to all UCM's, but that will
be taken care of if you put the routes to dev null on your egress gw, ie the
last hop for the network were the VGW reside. Or on the remote sites last hop
before leaving the LAN and entering the WAN. That is if you have the control of
that box, if not this could be hard to achieve.

Good idea. One gotcha, if you are redistributing static routes, you can
actually take down all remote locations as this route will advertise out to all
locations. This happen to me once, ouch.

With MGCP, the gateway will need to go into SRST to test outbound calls or the
phones will fallback but outbound and inbound calls will not.

That's the way that I usually do it anyway, for example I did it last week for
a client that has a MGCP VGW in Dublin and wanted to try and verify the SRST
functionality. I was sitting at home, helped them out during a study break.
It's actually the phones that fails over, not the VGW. It has no idée of SRST
or not. If it is a MGCP VGW then it will of course be aware of that it has lost
the connection to the UCM, but it will still not have any clue of SRST. It's
the phones that notice that they have lost the connection to first the primary
UCM, then secondary, then tertiary then finally it will fail over to the SRST
reference.

You can put in two host routes that points the traffic destinated to the UCM
servers to dev null. That would also make the phones to fall over to SRST.

Like this

ip route 10.10.210.10 255.255.255.255 null0

Like this

Phil,

Good morning. I would look at the settings in UCM on the line on the
device. All the way at the bottom there are some check boxes for
called, Calling and redirected number. Then once the call gets to
Unity use the Port Viewer (??) in RTMT to see what Unity is seeing.
>From there you can set up call routing rules in Unity to match and send
the call where you want. That is what I have done in the past.

Just some thoughts. Hope that helps. Others from the group will
probably chime in also.

get a graceful disconnect unless I redirect the call to a unity handler and

OEQ = 21 points
Lab  = 79 points

2 out 4 correct = 0 points
3 or 4/4 correct = 21 points.

bottomline, you cannot pass the lab unless you answer at least 3 out of
4 questions correctly, since passing score is 80.

Jerry, here's the scoop on OEQs:

The total lab is 100 points, you need 80 to pass. The OEQ section is 21 points
and contains 4 questions. If you get 3 or 4 questions correct, you will get 21
points for that section. If you get 0, 1, or 2 questions correct, then you get
0 points for that section. So, if you miss 2 of the OEQs, then you will fail
the entire lab. Here's why..Even if you get every single detail correct on the
lab portion, you would only get 79 points from the various lab sections and 0
from the OEQs. 79 is not enough to pass. You get 30 minutes for the OEQs, but
if you finish them early, you can start immediately on the lab. Even if you
think you missed 2 or more questions, you must forget about it for the rest of
the day and focus solely on the lab because one the OEQs are done and you start
the lab, you can't go back the them and you need all of your concentration on
the remaining lab sections.

Thanks,

Kevin

of the day and focus solely on the lab because one the OEQs are done and you
start the lab, you can't go back the them and you need all of your
concentration on the remaining lab sections.

Thanks,
Kevin

Dear Folks,

I have questions on Open End Questions for CCIE Voice. I know cisco introduce
30 mins core knowledge questions before lab. Will 4 OEQ questions be scored
and carry to your total lab points?

Cheers

Jerry

I just retook the test a few weeks ago as it had been nearly three
years since I passed it the first time.

It's basically a cross sampling of everything required for the ccvp.
In terms of knowledge base it is closer to a v2 lab than v3. It still
has alot of the older technolgies on there. I think that is because
some of the books in the reading list have yet to be updated.

Re: post by: Ryan Hicks

I am not trying to achieve any thing special or from a directed question.
I set up CM as normal, notice that I cannot dial anything. Look at the pull
replication and notice the subscription is not present. I reestablish it. Give
it about ten minutes to re-sync. Reboot the SUB, then the PUB. And I still cnot
dial anything. Even when devices are in the null partition with no CSSs
assigned.
?
So, if I build any particular lab out, and tis happens, nothing works.
**

If you were talking about CCM DB replication issue, then I think I will follow
these steps:
--> Ensure Subscriber srv up, SQL DB is running
--> Ensure Pub DB up running
--> In Pub, open 'SQL Enterprise Manager' -> Look for
--> a. Which Database instance used by default, for example: 'ccm0301'
--> b. Inside this DB instance, verify if you can see 'subscription name'
with proper ccmname/type/status. for instance:
Subscription name: CCM2-PM03-MKM
Type: Pull
Status: Active
Subscriber: CCM2-PM03-MKM
SubscriptionDB: CCM0301
> From Pub srv, ping 'ccm2-pm03-mkm' sub, it should pingable, if not
local hostname need to add it

--> In Sub, do similar thing. Also verify Pub is pingable from Sub.

BTW, if your replica to sub failed, your pub should still up and be able to
handle calls. How come you cannot dial anything?

Please let me know if you are aware of something else.

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] (no subject)

2008-12-04 Thread Sergio Polizer
Narinder, thanks for your reply. The DB was corrupted.

During the IPCC installation, the system says to do not restart CRS Engine
at any node for 10 minutes.

But, after few minutes I've alredy configured the jtapi and I did restart
the CRS. So...

 Cheers, Sergio.
