RE: OT: Window 95 Log?
You could easilly write a WSH Script to log users when they log in to the machine. I thought you were looking for a pre-existing log. Definitely look into the Windows Script Host. ~Simon > Simon Horwith > Allaire Certified ColdFusion Instructor > Certified ColdFusion Developer > Fig Leaf Software > 1400 16th St NW, # 220 > Washington DC 20036 > 202.797.6570 (direct line) > www.figleaf.com > -Original Message- From: JustinMacCarthy [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, January 17, 2001 1:39 PM To: CF-Talk Subject: RE: OT: Window 95 Log? At 09:25 AM 1/17/2001 -0600, you wrote: >What other then a cmos password can protect a windows? There are a couple of ways to protect Win9x machines Cut the power cord Run the keyboard through the paper shredder Create a wav file to replace the windows startup sound which says "please don't use me if yer not supposed to" OR Upgrade to win2k There are a few shareware programs (folderguard I believe is one) which provide some minimal security. But they are easy to circumvent if you know even a little bit about win boxes...(ie most don't operate in safe mode so a quick reboot and you have full access...) ~~ Structure your ColdFusion code with Fusebox. Re: OT: Window 95 Log?
Very little. Windows 95 is a very insecure system; you can get into the operating system without "logging on". (Is this box on a domain? You might be able to get some clues from the domain controller.) To answer your second question, upgrading to NT Workstation or 2000 Professional. -- Billy Cravens HR Web Development, Sabre [EMAIL PROTECTED] Nathan Stanford wrote: > > What Log file will tell me if someone has logged into a windows 95 computer? > > What other then a cmos password can protect a windows? > > ~~ Structure your ColdFusion code with Fusebox.
