[Chevelle-list] Liquid VS paste!

2008-10-08 Thread Daniel Mascheck
Is there really that much difference from their liquid vs. the paste wax?
You would think it's the same product in liquid form which would be easier
to apply!?

I have a '70.? Is it the same motor and mounting?? If so, I will look and
answer your questions.

Let me know if they are the same.

For the life of Brian!? (I dont know a Brian...but it means that I'm
FRUSTRATED!)

?

Those fortunate to have a Wiper Motor on your A-Body...PLEASE go out, look at
it and tell me if there are more than ONE rubber isolation/mounting bushing.

?

I took my motor off over 20 years ago...was confident that I had replaced the
fasteners to the firewall...that said...I just bought a new motor...and have
spent OVER a hour trying to figure out what size/length the fasteners are to
mount it to the firewall!

?

HELP...HELP...HELP...

?

I can see how to orient the motor...and even found the harness/washer supply
lines right where I left themI just dont seem to have the correct
fastner/washer...to mount it up!

?

Thank's In Advance!

I just got through using Meguire's NXT past wax and it was a major chore!
Maybe the can was old, but it sure wasn't that easy to put on! The shine was
OK and I may have to spend some time with a clay bar(GROAN) to get
everything back up to par.

Does anyone have opinion about what has worked best for them and what is
easy, but has a durable shine!

Have tried many but on my main show car its McGuire's Hi Tech #26 and
Mothers spray detailer.
I find that the McGuire's spray show shine detailer smears too much.

2008-10-08 Thread Rick Schaefer
There are 3 mount bolts on a 72 with hidden wipers. 2 on the driver side
at 12 6 o'clock. One on the pass side at 9 o'clock.. Don't know what
non hidden wipers would have, but probably similar. Don't forget that you
will need a ground strap acrossed one of the mounts to effectively ground
the motor.

[Chevelle-list] VIn and cowl tag decoding

2008-10-08 Thread Larry Hickman
Any Firebird or Trans Am experts out there ?  I am trying  to decode what is
supposed to be a '78 Trans Am. The vin shows it to be a Trans Am, but the cowl
tag is showing it to be a Firebird. To this point, I have only had time to
check a couple different web sites. Can anyone recommend a good resource that I
can get my hands on quickly ? Thanks in advance for any help.

Check the year one website or call them. Possibly a dealer may be able to
trace it to.

I've used one and while it does take time, it works removing road film.
FWIW, you might use a valid subject on the Subject line. Many people don't
read the digest. :*)

Dale McIntosh

Have any of you tried using one of the clay bars??? Looks like plenty of
work and does it help remove sap and old crud??

[Chevelle-list] Hidden wipers?

2008-10-08 Thread Pelle Andersson
Hi!

My hidden wipers won't hide completely, they're still about halfway
up behind the hood and I can't adjust them to go further down.
Is it a common problem? Is it supposed to be like this?

Best Regards
