Really? I guess you have never been part of a racing family. There might not be more then a piece of bread for dinner, but the race is gonna have a new set of heads :) hehee. That is about how I do things... good old Ramen noodles and Mac and Cheese for a few weeks, not to mention going for water at the bar with the boys... A tough sacrifice, but worth it in the end :) - Original Message - From: Paul O'Brien Sent: Wednesday, June 26, 2002 8:41 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [Chevelle-List] Hi, im new here! Welcome Chad, Here is a link for 1970 Chevelle paint colors: http://www.cobradeuce.com/catalog-usa/1970ChevroletChevelle.htm There is also a page out there for Rinshed Mason, Ditzler, and Dupont codes for these colors, but I don't have it bookmarked. Maybe somebody else can help out with that info. Actually, my dad turned me onto muscle cars, but i progressed from what he taught me. my dad had a TON of muscle cars - 2 '67 chevelle SS's, '68 goat, 67 impala ss, only to name a few. I HAVE A HUGE BRAINER - my dad used to have a 1970, not 1971, GT-37 (not T-37) with a 400. now, im not sure if im right, but my research tells me that there was only 100 made? can anyone verify that? also, i have only seen pictures of champagne gold and autumn gold chevelles, and it seems like in the pictures, champagne looks better, but in the paint chips, champagne gold looks terrible. i guess the only way to know if i like the colors, are if i go to a big chevelle event adn see many different colors, eh? RE: [Chevelle-List] Hi, im new here!
Title: Message Well what is most of the youth of today coming to? It's nice to see that Chad and others on here are the exceptions if most of the kids in school don't like cars. I knew rap music was going to have a bad effect on youth !!! LOL Just kidding, I know they said that about Rock and Rollwell maybe they had a point there. We got spoiled. All we seemed to want was faster cars, shorter skirts, less war unless you have a dang good reason, less work and more pay. Hey wait.what's wrong with that? IMISS MINI SKIRTS ! Anyway, welcome Chad. Remember the muscle car rules of the road: #1 Obey the laws. #2Make your caras safe as you can as well as good looking. ( Good brakes! seat belts, good steering front end, no parts falling off, good tires etc.) #3 Don't race on public streets or put anyone in danger #4.Don'tgive in to temptation and race "Rice Rockets"just look at them and laugh. When you are ina muscle car you don't need to prove anything, you already have just by being in one. Something they will never understand .unless maybe they ride in one :) #5. Promote Muscle Car Classics to your friends and help preserve as many as you can. #6. Learn about cars and how to fix them by taking autoshop classes, welding, painting, metal shop etc.You don't have to take these just in high school. There are trade schools, adult shools, career centers, and even community colleges that let non HS grads take courses, and more that offer classes in how to do these things. and finally #6. Never play rap music in a muscle car.LOL Sorry ...couldn't help myself :) Steve -Original Message-From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of Chad PlaysoSent: Tuesday, June 25, 2002 1:17 PMTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]Subject: Re: [Chevelle-List] Hi, im new here! oh yea, also, im happy to hear that you got your dream chevelle! i was wondering, is this car your daily driver? im going to be 16 in december. it is cool toknow a teen who loves muscle cars as i do. no one in my school likes cars, and i feel like im the only one who does. - Original Message - From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, June 25, 2002 12:44 PM Subject: Re: [Chevelle-List] Hi, im new here! Re: [Chevelle-List] Hi, im new here!
Welcome aboard Chad. It is great to see the younger generation interested in muscle cars. 5 years ago when I asked my then 15 year old Daughter what new car she wanted for her 16th birthday, she replied, 'I would rather have a 69 Chevelle than any new car available'. Two days later, we have a 69 Chevelle setting in the garage. It is setup in full race gear (no heater, lights, interior, etc.). It took her, her little sister, my wife and I a year to get it streetable and every kid in school wanted to buy it, no way! Two years later, I had to buy here a new car to get the Chevelle back.
