Re: [Chevelle-List] List archive and exhaust hanger location
I know this isn't really your point, but it reminded me to make a reminder :) Just in case some new guys don't know or if anyone's forgotten, there's an archive of past email at http://www.mail-archive.com/chevelle-list%40chevelles.net/ Update on my engine swap: Engine's in, everything will be bolted up by the end of today. The exhaust is mocked up and should be welded by the end of the day. Only thing left to do is the wiring and I'll be back on the road! Can't wait! :) On a side note. If anyone who has installed the Flowmaster 2-1/2 exhaust kit on their car has a picture (or REALLY detailed instructions) of where the rearmost hanger is supposed to bolt in, I could really use it. It says to use the stock location, but 1) I don't know where that is because the last person who did exhaust made their own holes and stuff. 2) The bracket doesn't seem to line up anywhere and I'm stumped trying to figure it out. So, if I may make a suggestion regarding email content: It's usually best not to say anything in an email that you would not say to a man's face. If you think someone might be justified in taking a swing at you for your comment, don't say it. For some strange reason, it's alot easier to vent frustration with an email than it is to apologize with one. - To Unsubscribe please visit www.chevelles.net/list.html To start a new topic, send mail to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: [Chevelle-List] List archive and exhaust hanger location
Hi Rodney, The stock location for the exhaust hangers is on the rear cross member. If you get under the car and look up at the crossmember, you'll see a small hole (may or may not be threaded) on the outer most end on both sides. A bit further in toward the center, you see two more holes drilled on the vertical side of the crossmember. These probably aren't very clear locations, but each hanger uses two bolts, one goes up towards the bed, the other goes towards the front or back (depending which way you start the bolt) of the car. If you have a 2002 Year One catalog, look on page 106, middle of page, left side. Maybe the picture of the hangers will help you understand my description better. cYa- Herb Lumpp 1966 El Camino ACES 3509, MCC 528 http://users.adelphia.net/~hlump/ - Original Message - From: Rodney.
