Re: [Chevelle-list] Looking for a Book
Just did a Quick look through my Old NCOA stuff seems like early 91. era when it jumped to 64 to 87. Yes there was some flack especially when the mag Featured later model cars and tech articles( not mentioning it's erratic publications ) Think ACES started in 94 Chuck also last year did a poll regarding the addition of the later model year cars.. and the consensus of the members was two to one not to expand to the later year models.. ( I would expect that from a poll on members of 64 to 72 ) Kind of like asking people at Maple Grove to Sign an Anti-noise Pollution Petition proposed by the local township. Re: [Chevelle-list] Looking for a Book
There have been a number of RUMORS regarding the demise of NCOA, and the Membership absorption into the Late Great Chevy and the events that derailed IMO a Fantastic Club... I to spent time with Mark behind Ausley's Trailer @ Carlisle in 99?. I felt at the time, with so much turmoil, a game of 50 questions were not in order. we did have a lengthy chat about Chevells and he was vary enthustaic about the spirited increase in interest from the craze in it's hay day in the late 80's. ( boy I wonder what he thinks in light of the muscle car craze we are in NOW ) did TGC take our Membership,, did Mark Sell it? did he give the info away ? As for the book your searching for... if your an Aces Member run an Wanted ad in Chevelle World, or post a Watned on TEAM Chevelle. Re: [Chevelle-list] Looking for a Book
Tom, You are right,Late Great Chevys did take over N.C.O.A. My friend tells me that Mark was going to be a correspondent or such with them. He also informes me that Mark is selling in A.C.E.S. the last issue, perhaps a way to get in touch with him. I would also offer to you this telephone number listing for [EMAIL PROTECTED] Meekins in High Point N.C.>>(336) 841-4700, it's worth a try. Good Luck and keep us informed. I am fortunate to have the first edition as well as the second edition published August 1989. I was thinking of sending him a letter to see if he has anymore of those books. The only other thing I noticed while browsing around ebay is that he is selling off some chevelle parts here and there.
