Re: What are current wait times for CCIE lab? [7:11525]

2001-07-09 Thread David Schaer

If you want to go earlier than 6 months you'll either have to find someone
willing to swap dates (unlikely) or go abroad.  I booked 11/21 in Singapore;
airline prices from the US are reasonable ( wrote in

RTP= Research Triangle Park (NC)

Once they've processed your passing of the written exam, you can obtain a
guest CCO account and use your exam date/score to view available dates in
each area.

Re: OSPF - Cool + an area question [7:11861]

2001-07-10 Thread David Schaer

Ole,

In my lab, I generally use simple, single decimal values. However, in a
production environment you may wish to use the dotted-quad form if you want
to want to represent meaningful data withing the area ID.

As an example consider the ospf-numbering format for RutgersU:
http://runet2000i.rutgers.edu/docs/ospf-numbering-main.html

And you're right; OSPF is cool! Who has more fun than we do?

Re: Access-list Question [7:12043]

2001-07-11 Thread David Schaer

Its actually one access list per protocol, per direction, per interface.

That rule is not violated in your example. The access list you're using
inbound is merely the same one you've chosen to bind outbound.

Kevin,

If I score too low should I expect to be flogged?

Re: CCIE Group in Singapore. [7:12253]

2001-07-14 Thread David Schaer

Kevin,

My ticket on United only ran me $800 RT and scheduling in Singapore cut off
over four months of additional wait time. To a certain extent, I wonder if
the proctor's reputation is nothing more than an "urban legend".
Ultimately, if we know this stuff we should pass, otherwise more power to
him for failling us and sending us packing.
