CCNP Recert Question [7:70769]
Hi, For those of you who have done the CCNP Recertification, do they cover new topics/protocols like 802.1w, 802.1s, QoS, IS-IS etc? Or is it just old topics? Can someone please direct me to the website that says thatyou can take all those tests again, instead of just doing the recertification exam please? Multiple ABR for a particular Area? [7:60654]
Hi, Are you allowed to have more than one ABR for a particular area? For example, 2 routers that are both ABR for Area 2? Passed Switching Exam
Hi everyone, Last week I sat the Switching exam and passed. I didn't find it as easy some people said, and only got 857. But I'm happy I passed anyway :o) There were some straightforward questions, but some really hard ones as well, which the answers I thought weren't in the book (CiscoPress) I was reading. They also asked heaps of questions on LED lights which I didnt' know. I have a problem with timing myself though, having done my three CCNP Helena _ FAQ, list archives, and subscription info: http://www.groupstudy.com/list/cisco.html Report misconduct and Nondisclosure violations to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
BCRAN passed
Hi all, Apologies for not writing earlier about my BCRAN exam but I've been rather busy. Passed it last week with 864. I thought the exam was rather ambiguous, it also asked modem commands, which I thought I wouldn't have to know, and specifics about routers eg what does a `1601 have that kinda thing... Half way through the exam, I thoguth that I had failed because they asked all this questions which I had to guess at, but I passed! Even though the matierial for BCRAN is not as difficult as BSCN, I rate it probably a close second after BSCN - in terms of difficulty - due to the amount of material (and range) that was covered and the depth that was covered in the exam. I was also surprised to find that th ecommand questions that were asked, did not actually test whether the commands were global configuration or interface commands etc. I used the Cisco Press book to study. I didn't really like it though, feeling that a lot of things were confusing and ambiguous. Re: BCMSN...
Congratulations ! I will be sitting it myself in a couple of weeks. what subjects would you recommend focussing on ? I've heard that there's lots of questions on STP and IP multicasting. Would you agree ? Also, did you get any "type in the command" questions ? Re: FW: EIGRP Neighbour - keeps flapping
Perhaps look at your configs for isdn dial up. Is there any dial up involved with these routers ? Perhaps something is causing the isdn to kick in, (dialer list defined properly?) with the default timeout for isdn being 120sec., the line will drop, but is brought back up immediately. this could stuff up the eigrp routes/neighbours, causing the flapping.> MandyD HI all, > > > > I have to routers connected on a token ring > segment. > > Every 120seconds > > exactly they lose the neighbourship. Passed BSCN
Hi everyone, Just like to thank everyone for helping me out while I was studying for the Routing exam. I am pleased to inform that I passed :o) There were lots of questions on BGP, and quite a few on VLSM, hierarchical routing. I attended the BSCN course, and basically studied from the course notes, and used the Boson exams - which I felt were similar for the easy questions, but the exam had harder questions in it. The course notes were very good though - well organised and everything. Re: Inverse Mask
Hi Keith, What I find helpful is to do this for inverse masks: Just subtract the number from 255. So for your 7, it will be 255-7 which is 248. Re: Question for DR/BDR in OSPF
Hi, I think it would be C. Because the election process doesn't occur until you need an election, and the BDR always replaces the DR, I think.. EIGRP Unequal-Cost Load Balancing

BCMSN question
Hi, I was wondering if someone could tell me how indepth we need to know the material in the Cisco press book of BCMSN? When I was studying for my CCNA, I mostly used Todd's book which was enough, but I did take a look at the Cisco Press book for CCNA and it was really indepth..I was wondering if this is the case for the BCMSN book? Like would we need to know the fields of ISL encapsulation?
