According to the website, the 50x exams can be substituted for 60x exams

BRI0: Dialing cause ip (s=10.3.101.13, d=224.0.0.10)
BRI0: Already 255 call(s) in progress on BRI0, dialing not
allowed

I have never seen this msg before. Anyone know what this means? Is there a

Yes, we are running EIGRP, and someone put in an permit any any statement
in. I removed that but ISDN is still not dialing. if i look at the history,
it shows it has dialed successfully a few weeks ago. The IOS is 11.2(5)P so
i cannot force a call to test connectivity with the carrier switch. layer 1
is active, spids are assigned, Im pretty much at a loss. The person on the
other end did say that on the external NT1 the LP LED was lit. I will follow
through with the carrier. Thanks

WE have serveral branches that have passive int on the bri0 and we do use

the bri, reloading the router, entered the switch type and spids and it
dialed fine. Thanks all for the suggestions.

1924-A and 1924-EN are capable fo running CLI. 1924-A must have the firmware

the router prices you were quoted were very good, however memory/flash

1924-a/en and 2924-xl can be gotten for less on ebay (300$ and 550)
respectively, modules can be gotten for less on ebay as well.
Definately look into buying the routers though.

Ole, just a word of experience here, don't let this drag on too
 long without
insisting that telco goes to the site and checks the smart jack
 CHASSIS. I
have seen a slot or the whole chassis be the problem with this
 symptom many
times. There is something about them that gives clear loopback
 tests from
the 'front' (entry point from telco) of the smart jack card but
 they can
only hardwire a loopback from the 'back' (exit point towards
 CSU). Of
course, they will be obstinate towards this request.

Thanks Michael, and everyone else who have replied to my e-mail.

The situation has changed, because I just saw that another ct

 since I
cleared the counters, so I called the provider back and they
 are going to do
 another stress test this evening.

Just for fun (after I cleared it earlier), I did a show
 service-module to
see what the DSU had seen, and got the following:

I can see there's a remote alarm when the PVC went down the

to me looks like the problem isn't my DSU nor the cable. Any

 that?

I have worked on the telco side and as you can imagine, this
 happens a bit..
At least you were working with the telco.. You don't know how
 many people
 would refuse to change anything..
Did the problem clear after telco testing or after you replaced
 the wire?
That will tell you where the problem was.. I'm curious, how
 did you know
the carrier transitions were within 24 hours? Had you
 experienced the
bouncing and cleared the counters the previous day? If so,
 those were the
 only errors you received?
For a T1, telco will usually run QRSS, 1's and 0's.. DDS,
 2047, 1's and
SP5.. More can be run of course but generally not, from my
 experience..
I remember I used to see a common problem with a certain 12.0x
 version and
2600 with WIC-1DSU-T1 (imagine trying to tell someone to change
 their
 IOS)

 Thanks,

Just a quick note on the 1900s. The old 1900c switches, (size of a pizza
box) and db-9 console port were menu driven. the 1924-A standard edition
(software upgradeable to Enterprise edition) and enterprise catalyst
switches (1924-EN), you can choose IOS from the menu and is just like a
2924xl. They are half the size of the older models, and they have an rj45
console port. (9.00.004) is the latest revision

77 Questions, 90 minutes. Took this exam 12-14. Hardest Exam I have ever
taken. I like that. Not like the mickey mouse MCSE exams where you are in
and out in 15 minutes. Very obscure theory questions. This was my first CCNP
exam, and I'd say the majority of the questions were isdn, DDR, x25. (40%)
Know them inside and out. You will get questions from every chapter from the
book, Used BCRAN book in the CCNP prep library, hands on, and boson exams.
Boson exams are ok, but nothing like the real thing, except for the drop
down menus.
1 down, 3 to go.

A couple on the 700. But nothing to worry about. It was more product
questions rather than set command questins. I looked over the 700 series
chapter briefly, but we dont use any at our remote sites where I work so
didnt put too much emphasis. Learn more then just how to configure x25. Most
of the x25 questions are obscure theory questions and they are relentless
with them. Again, something we dont use at work.
