RE: If file exists

2001-10-21 Thread Michael Homeijer

Hi,

I use a fileexistsaction which checks if a file exists and if it doesn't it
substitutes a parameter with a default name.

Subject: If file exists

Hi all ..
.. sorry .. today I'm flooding this mailing list :))

I would like to know if there is a way to make something if a given
file
exists.

Actually i'm doing a lot of content aggregations, and i'm searching
a way
to aggregate a document only if the given document is there. I've tried to
put it on a different pipe, then aggregate it with
"cocoon:/thepipe/etc../etc..", but if the generator of the subpipe doesn't
find the document it drops both the subpipe and the aggregation.

Thanks, and ciao ..

Simone

Folks,

I'm upset by this XInclude-thing... I can't figure out what's wrong.

Ok, here's my sitemap:

Heres the map.xsp.xsl file:

Frustrating, isn't it ? By the way, the parameters.xsml file is in

Re: cocoon + tomcat in window2000 services

2001-10-21 Thread Lajos Moczar

Hi Ling,

What version of Cocoon 2 are you running? I've run 2.0rc1 with Tomcat
3.2.2 after deleting both parser.jar and jaxp.jar, and copying
xerces_1_x_x.jar from the Cocoon2 build directory to %TOMCAT_HOME%\lib.
That did the trick for me.

java.lang.InternalError: jzentry == 0

2001-10-21 Thread Phil Blake

Hi everyone,

What causes cocoon to stop starting up and generate the following error?

This happened to me before and seemed to 'fix itself' when I threw away
the tomcat work directory. However, this time it isn't helping. :)

Has anyone seen this and know what's going on?

Thanks. Have fun,

Phil

cocoon2 generator implementation query

2001-10-21 Thread Bob Phillips

I have been looking at making a cocoon2 generator and would be
interested in advice or criticism about my strategy.

I have standalone sax2 test programs that implement a 'fake parser'
like michal kay's gedcom parser reading a text file, emitting sax events

written to an xml file that is (possibly) transformed. I am breaking up
a text file into .

another, similar parser reads comma delimited files from (for example)
excel.
--

Looking at the ../generation sources, I chose the HTML generator as a
model. It, however, uses DOM
and then converts it into SAX events.

The 'PoemtxtParser' emits sax events & I expect to hook it into the
{pipeline?} that is defined in the
sitemap by

in the generator section

and

---
---

The main program of my existing code writes to system.out and I need, I
believe to replace this output source with a connection to the cocoon2
pipeline. Here is the main excerpt:

 String poemtxtFileName = args[0];
  String xsltFileName = (args.length > 1) ? args[1] : null;

  TransformerFactory transFact = TransformerFactory.newInstance();
  if (transFact.getFeature(SAXTransformerFactory.FEATURE)) {
SAXTransformerFactory saxTransFact = (SAXTransformerFactory)
transFact;
TransformerHandler transHand = null;
if (xsltFileName == null) {
  transHand = saxTransFact.newTransformerHandler();
} else {
  transHand = saxTransFact.newTransformerHandler(new
StreamSource(new File(xsltFileName)));
}

// set the desitnation for the xslt transformation
transHand.setResult(new StreamResult(System.out));

//hook the poemtxtParser to the poemtxtFile
PoemtxtParser poemtxtReader = new PoemtxtParser();
InputSource poemtxtInputSrc = new InputSource(new
FileReader(poemtxtFileName));

// attach the XSLT processor to the poemtxtParser
poemtxtReader.setContentHandler(transHand);
poemtxtReader.parse(poemtxtInputSrc);

--
--

The PoemtxtParser.parse implements XMLReader and Locator

and emits calls to contentHandler.startDocument and .StartElement (and
so on).

-

Does this make sense or am I missing something already existing in
Cocoon2 that
would accomplish my goal/

regards

Bob Phillips

Fastest Platform (softwarewise)?

2001-10-21 Thread Konstantin Agouros

Hi,

I am running on Apache on Linux. What is the fastest Software-Platform for
the Java-Part. At the moment I am using Apache-JServ with Linux-JDK 1.1.8.
I am currently not using a JIT. So should I use Tomcat/Another JDK/a JIT?

This is what I have added to the conf.httpd file to get Cocoon 2 working
on Linux Slackware with Apache and Tomcat 4 (Catalina):

LoadModule webapp_module libexec/mod_webapp.so
AddModule mod_webapp.c
WebAppConnection conn  warp  localhost:8008
WebAppDeploy cocoonconn  /cocoon
WebAppInfo /webapp-info

It worked immediately after restarting Tomcat4 and Apache.

I have not tried this with Cocoon1.8, but I guess it will work as well.
The mod-webapp.so module can be obtained from CVS
  (jakarta-tomcat-connectors/webapp).

Hope this helps,
Andre.
