I need to point out that even though 2.2.15-0.2mdk is a prekernel, my
winmodem
works fine with it. It stopped working around 2.2.15-0.24mdk, so
something was
either removed or changed. All I want to know is what was
changed/removed so that
I might be able to make it work.

Do you have an adsl modem ?

I'm not quite sure I follow you. Here's what I do know: It's a
Lucent Soft Modem, I have the ltmodem 568. The modem module/device
worked on 2.2.15-0.20mdk, but not on 2.2.15-0.24mdk. It also worked
on 2.2.14-15mdk. This is a pre-compiled module, so I can not
recompile it. It was compiled on 2.2.12 Red Hat stock, from the
documentation. I'm hoping that all I have to do is install another
package, maybe something that was separated from the kernel around
2.2.15-0.20mdk?

Any Ideas?

I'm not quite sure I follow you. It is a Lucent modem, of which I
have LT568 which enables the modem. It worked without any
modifications on 2.2.15-0.20, and when I tried it with 2.2.15-0.24 and
after, it dials, then hangs when it is supposed to log into the
network. I have double and triple checked the password. I've also
noted that it doesn't go back on-hook. This module works with
2.2.14-15, but it didn't work with 2.2.13. It is a compiled module,
so I can't recompile it to work. I know I'm in a bad situation, but
it's the only thing I have at the moment. Why I don't just stick with
2.2.14: I need the sound modules in 2.2.15 to continue with
development on my current project.

Doesn't M$ have more than one competitor? And who is grabbing at
Amiga's new systems, though they aren't released yet, I haven't heard
of anybody trying to make any claims. This also means that we, Linux,
have more than one competitor, though the most stress is with M$.
Btw, I'm not a M$ buff, and I would very much like M$ to lighten up
on the marked, however it is done.

[Cooker] Possible Bug

2000-05-28 Thread Icebreaker

Hello,

I have a problem with my modem working on the latest Cooker kernel
2.2.15-9mdk
First off, I know it's a win-modem, but I have the module which
enables it. The
last kernel that I know it worked on was 2.2.15-0.20mdk, I tried with
2.2.15-0.24mdk and it didn't work. Does anyone know if there were any
changes that would affect the module between .20 and .24? Is there
anything else I may need, such as specific module packages not
included in the source or headers?

As for errors, I haven't seen anything yet. The modem does dial and
attempt to connect, but when it connects, it hangs and freezes kppp.

Any Ideas?
